We visited Pat Heung Central Primary School in Yuen Long and were very impressed by the welcoming, warm and positive atmosphere created by School Principal Ms Irene Lai and her team of committed teachers.
Five Stars to this school for creating some great resources to support Chinese language learning for children with Chinese as an Additional Language.
The textbooks have Jyutping romanisation and QR codes to provide audio. They even show the differences between spoken Cantonese and standard written Chinese.
This is the first time we've seen a school try to tackle the issue of distinguishing between spoken and written forms.
